We’ve compiled a list of most of the top sights to visit in Berlin which we hope will never leave your memories.

 

1. Brandenburg Gate

The Brandenburg Gate is world famous as a Berlin landmark and icon. This neoclassical monument, built late in the 18th century, is the symbol of unity and the testimony of the city’s rough history. Walk through Pariser Platz and get the gate in your lens.

 

2. Museum Island

Museum Island is in the heart of Berlin and if you love art, history or archaeology you should visit it. It is home to five world-renowned museums: the Pergamon Museum, the Neues Museum, the Altes Museum, the Bode Museum, and the Alte Nationalgalerie, I counted. There is each a museum with ancient Egyptian artifacts, priceless paintings etc.

 

3. Berlin Wall Memorial

Commemoration of the division of the city during the Cold War is a prominent place in Berlin Wall Memorial. Take a look at the outdoor exhibition which includes a preserved part of the wall, informative displays meant to tell us about the history and about the stories of those affected by the wall. It’s both a reminder of the city’s past and a hopeful symbol of hope and unity.

 

4. Checkpoint Charlie

Go to Checkpoint Charlie, one of the better known border crossings of East and West Berlin during the Cold War. To walk along Friedrichstraße in the morning, and hear about the stories of those who endured lives crossing the border. Go to the Checkpoint Charlie Museum for more complex details about this checkpoint’s history and experiences.

 

5. Tiergarten

Escape the urban hustle and tumble of the city and find yourself in Tiergarten, Berlin’s largest park. Join the leisurely stroll along the paths, take a rent a bike or simply have a picnic on the lush green lawns. Make sure to see the Victory Column, located right in the park, with beautiful views of the city from up top. Reserve helps you blow off steam and get closer to nature.

 

6. Charlottenburg Palace

Charlottenburg Palace is the big one in Berlin and takes you back in time. See the baroque architecture alone is stunning, go through the opulent rooms, full of period furniture, artwork, and explore the palace gardens. When you have the chance don’t forget to catch a classical concert at the palace’s impressive concert hall.

 

7. East Side Gallery

The remaining section of Berlin Wall that has been open air art gallery known as the East Side Gallery. It consists of over a hundred murals by artists from around the world and is the longest running, largest outdoor gallery in the world. Appreciate the awe inspiring artwork, as well as the historical importance of the wall, and give yourself a moment to think.

 

8. Alexanderplatz

Alexanderplatz is the square and the transportation hub of Berlin. The iconic TV Tower dominates the square, and looks onto the city in these incredible views. Go for a walk either in the nearby Alexa shopping mall, see what hour it is with the World Clock, or eat at one of many restaurants in the close area. It’s the perfect place for a quick soak up of the brilliant city atmosphere.

 

9. Potsdamer Platz

Potsdamer Platz is a trendy neighborhood with many modern architecure, big shopping centers, entertainment. Or walk around those buzzing streets, visit the Sony Center, see a flick at the movies, or have a meal in any of those hundreds of restaurants. And don’t forget to stop in and see the scraps of Berlin Wall that remain in the area.

 

10. Berlin Cathedral

For end you your tour, head to the Belrin Cathedral, a beautiful Neo Renaissance style building. Marvel at its elaborate interior, climb to the dome for a view of the city or, sit in the hallowed hall for a choir concert. It’s also a terrific way to take in the city’s capital’s cultural and architectural wonders.
